SRK talks About sci-fi fantasy

The slew of big budget science fiction films like Krrish series, Ra.One and the upcoming Shirish Kunder directed Joker, mark the birth of the desi superheroes. Actor Sharukh Khan, who starred in one of the most expensive Bollywood film Ra.One, says, “Whoever helps anyone I think is a super hero.
Of course when it’s a movie, it’s larger than life, you can be in tights and help everyone without having a personal interest.”

The 46-year-old admits that the Indian response to this genre has been lukewarm, mainly, because of the audience is slow to digest the  over-the-top fantasies. He says, “So, this fantasia, so to say, or this leap of faith where the super hero is going to save you against the krypton, flying down and saving thousands of people is still too fantastic for us. Our fantasies are still limited to buying a good house, having a good car and having a regular job.”

He adds, “You know our villain still has to laugh in the same way to tell you that he’s a bad guy. So we are somehow not being able to marry this fantastic form that exists which should actually give you freedom of flight of fantasy completely. We’re still trying to- Let’s make it Ra.One because Ra.One is the bad guy.”

Watch Khan talk desi science-fiction movies and other tidbits with Hindustan Times entertainment critic Anupama Chopra to know more about the star.

Shah Rukh Khan gaga over ‘Dark Knight’ Batman

Mumbai: As Christian Bale’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ readies to hit the Indian big screen tomorrow, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t stop raving about his favourite superhero - Batman. Bale returns as the cape crusader in this conclusive trilogy of master craftsman Christopher Nolan.

So awestruck is SRK with Batman that during a chat show, the actor said, “If it doesn’t sound strange, I would marry him if I got a chance! I love Batman. Batman is so cool because, see, it’s a boy fantasy. He’s a playboy in the day, he’s got really cool cars, he’s handsome, lots of money, he’s got a mansion, he’s got girls, really cool suits, he’s got underground caves with machines that you don’t understand and a wonderful valet who looks even more sophisticated than him at times.”
Shah Rukh Khan gaga over ‘Dark Knight’ Batman
SRK further adds, “Batman’s got a sidekick who is too colourful for my liking but really pretty girls and even the bad girls like Catwoman… they like him.... So he’s got a signal — zoop! His name comes down and says, ‘I have to go’ and he’s got a utility belt. He’s really cool and he’s human.

“There’s nothing in this world that compares to Batman. I have a lot of things I have to achieve if I want to be Batman and the playboy image. Yes, I think to me there is nothing greater than Batman, honestly. I would do this interview wearing a Batman costume”, said SRK.

SRK’s presence gets Sallu dropped from guest list

For the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, organisers invited one Khan and not the other, in an attempt to avoid ugly confrontations

Shah Rukh Khan is the special guest for the premiere of Christopher Nolan's latest offing, The Dark Knight Rises, which releases this week. Like most of us, SRK too is as excited to watch the film. In fact on a TV show earlier this week, the actor mentioned he would've loved to marry actor Christian Bale who plays Batman in the film, provided he had a better voice.

And thus, when invited for the star-studded event to be held at a Juhu multiplex on Thursday, Khan couldn't let go of the opportunity. Interestingly, if sources are to be believed, one of the main reasons SRK decided to attend the show and let go of his usual comfortable home screening at Mannat, is Salman Khan's absence from the guest list.

An insider told us, "SRK, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan are amongst the few who have confirmed their attendance for the premiere. And Salman was never invited for this one. The organisers deliberately kept Salman away from it as they would not like to put SRK in an awkward spot."

Another source close to the actors said, "Salman is a big star so there are chances that he may have been invited for the premiere. However, he is very particular about not attending events that may make him uncomfortable. So, he perhaps declined it. Also, he loves to watch films at private screenings with his friends and family."

SRK and Farah Khan show some love to the cameras! ‎

How did Shahrukh Khan, Boman Irani & Farah Khan bring the house down at ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’ music preview?
This was followed by the music preview of a song, ‘Ramba mein samba’, sung by Usha Uthup, where the onscreen lovebirds were seen impersonating DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun? It was an amazingly funny video, but we must tell you that of all the three avatars that she had donned, Farah looked best as Kajol in DDLJ.

The madness continued, as producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bela Sehgal Bhansali became targets of the mad bunch’s jokes. Shahrukh said, “I am happy that Bhansali has finally made a fun and frothy film. Last time I had told him to make one, he came up with Black. Some digs were taken at Bela as well, and she sportingly took them in her stride. She said that after making Farah act even she could take up acting offers in the future. It was one mad evening and we must say that nobody entertains like SRK does!

The tone for the evening was set when five minutes into the event, VJ Cyrus Broacha brought to notice the brassiere on which Boman Irani and Farah Khan were seen hanging on to, in the latest poster of their forthcoming film, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. Cyrus asked Boman, if he was really playing the role of a lingerie salesman in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh…Boman and Farah quipped that here nobody gets the pronunciation of ‘lingerie’ right, so might as well call it a bra. Soon after, Shahrukh Khan was called on to the stage and was introduced as some newbie actor.

Now, Shahrukh, who had overheard the indecent undie-talk backstage, couldn’t resist taking a go at Boman and Farah. He said, “I know who Shirin and Farhad are, but what is ‘toh nikal padi’? Does it have anything to do with the err…whatever you were just talking about? Farah said, “It referred to Boman’s bra.” The laugh riot continued for a while and Cyrus kept making fun of budget constraints, Parsi community, unpaid bills and the old ladies who are a part of the film. Before the spoof poster was about to be revealed, King Khan goofed up and revealed that it was based on his cult hit, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. An embarrassed-looking Farah, pulled up SRK for ruining the surprise, and then the spoof poster was unveiled.

No one can recreate the ‘DDLJ’ magic: Shah Rukh Khan

Actor Shah Rukh Khan said here today that nobody could recreate the magic of his most iconic romantic film, Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayenge.
He made the statement at a promotional event of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming home production film Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, where leading actors Farah Khan and Boman Irani recreated the magic as Simran and Raj of ‘DDLJ’ in a poster.

Shah Rukh had come to unveil the third poster of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi which portrayed Boman dressed up as SRK and Farah as Simran.
“I have seen spoofs of all movies created by others, but I never thought anyone would think of making a spoof on DDLJ,” Shah Rukh told reporters here, at the music launch of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, a romantic comedy directed by Bhansali’s sister Bela Sehgal.
“I think love can happen at any age. It has no age. There is no right time and right place for love. It can happen any time,” Shah Rukh said.
Farah and Shah Rukh, who came together on the same platform after a controversial show down, seemed very comfortable and couldn’t stop praising each other.
When Farah made her third film, Tees Maar Khan without Shah rukh, rumors mills were abuzz that all is not well between the two. It was also in the beginning of this year, when Shah Rukh had a fallout with Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder at a party thrown by Sanjay Dutt.
“Farah is one of the most finest and talented directors we have with us. I thank Farah for giving me some of the nicest moments in her films,” Shah Rukh said.

Awesome Shah Rukh Khan is Bhansali’s “chosen one”!

The dynamic King Khan has always been a big fan of Sanjay Leela Bhansali since his drunken “Devdas” days. Bhansali may not have repeated Shahrukh in any of his later directorial ventures but this “Bollywood friendship” hums a mutual tune together till now. They share fabulous equation together and a smug Shahrukh is the “special chosen one” out of a load of people, who has been honored by Sanjay to unveil the “spoofy DDLJ“ poster and inaugurate the music of his sister’s directorial debut “Shirin Farhad Ki toh Nikal Padi.“ And Shahrukh gladly bows down to the privilege.

Shirin Farhad Ki to Nikal Padi
The upcoming bollywood delight is being directed by the debutant director Bela, who is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister. Bhansali till today maintains a sturdy camaraderie with the “King Khan” and has roped him in for the ”ribbon cutting ceremony“ of his sister’s upcoming flick,”Shirin Farhad ki toh nikal padi”. Bela, Sanjay’s sister makes her debut as a director and has signed Boman Irani and Farah Khan on the dotted line.
The Bhansali honor ceremony
The hunt had been on for a quite a while for “the right one“ to make an impactful unveiling of the film’s poster and music. Bhansali favorite, charismatic Shahrukh Khan, won over from the rest and took the “honorable task” under his bonnet.
A source from Sanjay’s camp stated “Sanjay and SRK have been close friends for several years and having worked together so closely. Sanjay wanted SRK to be present for the poster launch. Also, SRK is very particular about being there for his friends so when Sanjay asked him he immediately agreed to attend the function, without thinking twice.Though there were some prior commitments; he canceled all his appointments for the day.”
The Farah Khan angle
Old friendship between Shahrukh and Farah Khan has been renewed and both of them sit with their heads joined from now on. He couldn’t say no to his “good friend” Farah’s acting debut inaugural ceremony. The unveiled posture has a reflection of Shahrukh –Kajol’s superhit “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge."
An excited Farah was heard exclaiming “I was excited when I heard about the concept of the teaser posters that was about love stories. DDLJ stands out as one of his iconic love stories. This is the best launch a newcomer could have ever got.”
Something good always comes out in the end! Shahrukh is no longer at loggerheads with Farah Khan. Farah promises to entertain in the Bhansali produced laugh riot. And last but not the least, cheers to the Bhansali and the Khan compatibility!

SRK Bhansali Friends Again

Bhansali plans to compensate for his absence at the earlier do by attending the music launch of Shirin Farhad..., to be held today. What's more, it is learnt Shah Rukh will be chief guest at the event. So what gives readers may recall the much publicised fallout between Bhansali and Shah Rukh, when Saawariya and Om Shanti Om, respectively, had released on the same day. At the time, there had been reports of Shah Rukh taking potshots at Bhansali with the latter retaliating by questioning the superstar's dignity.

In recent times though, Shah Rukh and Bhansali have made efforts to reconcile their differences. For instance, when Shah Rukh was shooting at Mehboob Studios and he came to know Bhansali was there too shooting for his film Guzaarish, the actor made it a point to pay him a visit and clear the air. After the release of Guzaarish, Shah Rukh had even called Bhansali to compliment him.
A source close to the project told us, "With the earlier poster launch, where both Farah and Boman were dressed in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai costumes, Bhansali's absence was relevant. But this time round, Bhansali is making an exception for Shah Rukh and breaking his trend of appearing only once for his films."
Interestingly, the music launch of Bela's Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi will see all three: Farah, Shah Rukh and Bhansali, share the same podium, making way for ending past differences.

SRK Visit Aashirwad to mourn Rajesh Khanna

"To live with intention & walk to the edge. Play with abandon, choose with no regret. Smile & made us do the same.Sir,u defined our era.RIP," Khan tweeted on Wednesday.

"Mom & me use to sit & watch Mr.Khanna's films back to back.Whenever life felt tough u made us feel how love could change it all. will miss u," Khan said.

Khanna passed away in his Mumbai residence on Wednesday after prolonged illness. According to reports, he was battling cancer. He was 69.

According to reports, the superstar's last rites will be performed at 11 am on Thursday.

Khanna gave India several memorable films that included 'Kati Patang', 'Amar Prem', 'Shehzada', 'Apna Desh', 'Mere Jeevan Saathi', 'Aap Ki Kasam', 'Ajnabee', 'Namak Haraam', 'Maha Chor', 'Karm', 'Phir Wohi Raat', 'Aanchal', 'Kudrat', 'Ashanti', 'Agar Tum Na Hote', 'Awaaz, Hum Dono' , 'Anand' and 'Alag Alag'.

Pertinently, he had 15 consecutive solo superhits between 1969 to 1971, which is still an unbroken record in Indian film history.

ow SRK strengthened bond with Farah

They’ve gone from being buddies to being estranged and of late, back to being buddies. Now, Shah Rukh and Farah Khan are set to further strengthen their professional bond. It seems SRK proposed that Farah co-produce the film, Happy New Year, with him. And Farah readily obliged.

Until now,Shah Rukh has co-produced films only with close friends Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. But close on the heels of their much-publicised patch up, Farah’s company will be co-producing the film that, until now, she was just to direct.

As a result, Happy New Year will now be produced by Red Chillies (owned by SRK) in association with Farah and her husband Shirish Kunder’s Three’s Company.

Farah says, “It was SRK’s suggestion. While we were planning the film, he said that ‘it’s high time we become partners’. No doubt, I’m happy about. But it’s SRK who deserves the credit for the partnership.”

The first leg of the shoot will start towards the end of December. “At least, I will start, maybe without Shah Rukh. And then, January onwards, we will be on in full steam.”

It’s believed that Farah and Shah Rukh’s friendship soured when she announced her third film (after Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh) Tees Maar Khan (2010) with Akshay Kumar. Later, the infamous brawl between SRK and Shirish worsened things. It was only recently that they hugged and made up at SRK’s home, Mannat.

Did Shahrukh Khan relive his infamous fight with Salman Khan?

How can one forget Bollywood's infamous fight that took place four years back? Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan's thick friendship came to an abrupt end with an ugly spat at Katrina Kaif's birthday bash on July 16, 2008. After the completion of four years of their fight, on July 16, 2012, Shahrukh Khan was spotted at the same nightclub in Bandra.
If reports are to be believed, Shahrukh was spotted having a quiet dinner with Anushka Sharma on Monday night at the same Bandra nightspot, where he had a brawl with Salman at Katrina Kaif's birthday party. If reports are to be further believed, SRK chose the same seat where he lost his then best friend Salman Khan four years back.
Did SRK relive his infamous fight with Salman?
SRK's business manager also accompanied them. We wonder why did Khan choose that particular nightspot and that too on the same day (Katrina's birthday) after four long years. Was it just a coincidence or did Shahrukh recall the infamous brawl?

Shirin & Farhad to pose like SRK-Kajol of DDLJ?

Farah - Baman Posed Like SRK - Kajol in KKHH
The series of posters has engaged the audiences and also left them curious and awaiting for the next poster. All eyes are now set on the look of the third poster, which is still under covers and will be unveiled today. Meanwhile, it seems, the makers have come up with some hint (see image). The third poster, apparently, will be a copy of iconic DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAAYENGE which starred Shahrukh Khan & Kajol. In the above image, the part which talks about the third poster has a hat with feather, which was donned by SRK in the film.

SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI is Bela Sehgal directorial debut with Bhansali Productions. Set against a Parsi background, Shirin and Farhad are two individuals in their forties who fall in love with each other and wish to get married. The journey to the wedding is a series of fortunate as well as unfortunate events. The promos look promising, the dialogues are hilarious and the movie as a whole brings a new fresh look to the audiences

Aanjjan Srivastav's SRK connection!

Veteran actor Aanjjan Srivastav is best remembered for playing the central role on Waghle Ki Duniya. Very few people know that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan did an episode in Waghle.... And this marked the beginning of what was going to be a long association on the professional front for the two.

SRK and Aanjjan later worked together in Circus and went on to do films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Chak De India. "It was always a pleasure working with Shah Rukh. After every shot, he would ask for my assurance if it was good or not. That was the hallmark of a good newcomer and a star in making. He is very energetic and hardworking." The veteran actor shares an incident, "There was this person who wanted to make a film with an experienced actor. He was not ready to sign Shah Rukh because he was a rank newcomer then. I was a bit upset and told him that a day will come when people will have to wait for his dates." Talk about identifying talent early.

Behind the scenes: When Shahrukh Khan took Anushka Sharma for a bike ride in London

In her debut Bollywood film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi released in 2008, Anushka Sharma took Shahrukh Khan for a crazy bike ride. Four years on, the tables have turned. How?

The comeback film of Yash Chopra starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma seems to be a love triangle. While the fans have earlier been treated to the stills of Shahrukh and Katrina romancing in London and the superstar giving a bike ride to Anushka Sharma, the behind-the-scenes stills of the shoot are now doing the rounds on the web.

The snapshots show Shahrukh Khan at the handle of a Royal Enfield and Anushka Sharma sitting pillion.

These are the shots from the sets and they give you an idea of all the slog that goes into shooting a good scene. There are stills of the camera mounted on the back of a truck, and Yash Chopra supervising the shots. There are also shots of SRK’s make-up being touched upon.

The film is yet untitled. But its principal photography is almost over, save for one last schedule which might be held in Ladakh.

Slated to release in November, this film sees the return of Shahrukh Khan as the King of Romance.

Catch the images from the sets ahead.

Climax Of YRF's Next To Shoot At Ladakh

Yash Chopra was toying with the idea of revisiting one of his favourite destinations, the Kashmir valley, as a backdrop for his directorial next starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The last time the snow-dusted valley featured in Chopra's films was in the 1976 blockbuster Kabhie Kabhie, after which the filmmaker, known for his choice of the most beautiful locales, had shifted his attention to the Swiss Alps for the longest time. So much so, the production house even conducted a recce of Kashmir, raising anticipation levels there.

However, the climax of Yash Chopra's yet-untitled film will be shot in Ladakh and not Kashmir, only because Shah Rukh suggested the venue.
A source close to the film had said, "Yashji loves the snow in Kashmir and has shot two of his most romantic films, Daag and Kabhi Kabhie, there. They need a snow-capped landscape for the climax. Hence, initially, he contemplated shooting in Kashmir."
However, Shah Rukh came up with the idea of Ladakh, where he had shot for Mani Rathnam's Dil Se, and still has fond memories of the place, the source revealed.
That's when and how the plan changed. So this winter, the film's unit will head for a ten-day climax shoot to Ladakh instead of Kashmir.
Yash Raj Films' official spokesperson confirmed the news saying, "The next schedule is in Ladakh."

Tho kaise khelna hai.. aaj mein tumhe nahin bataunga.. Bas itna kahunga, ki jao aur yeh sattar minute jee bhar kar khelna.. kyunki iske baad aane wali zindagi chahe kuch sahi ho ya na ho.. chahe kuch rahe ya na rahe.. haro ya jeeto..lekin yeh sattar minute.. tumse koi nahin cheen saktha, Kyunki mein jaantha hu ki aagar yeh sattar minute is team ka har player apne zindagi ki sabse badiya hockey khel gaya.. tho yeh satar min khuda bhi tumse vapas nahin maang saktha. (This is one of the best scenes from Chak De India. Just before the Hockey Final)

20 Things We Love About Shah Rukh Khan

It's been a memorable 20 for the 46-year old King Khan. Here are 20 things we LOVE about him.

1. He speaks so well
The man's any interviewer's dream. SRK's charming eloquence and can battle its way out of the trickiest questions with characteristic wit and snazzy repartee.

Right from his first cool quote, 'When a movie flops we find hundreds of excuses, right from the colour of one's socks to the Great Wall of China' to his famous speech in Yale, 'I become heartbroken, angry and completely convinced that bananas and critics, both should have their skins peeled and fed to the monkeys.'

2. The entertaining intellectual

There's no doubting SRK's intelligence.Being one of the few educated celebrities in the film industry, his well-read and informed attitude is keenly reflected in his ideas and conversation.

3. What a success story!
Without a godfather or starry connections to boot, SRK conquered an infamously nepotistic Bollywood on his own terms and conditions.

In the last 20 years, among his many other accomplishments, he's worked with the likes of Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Rakesh Roshan, Mani Rathnam, Kundan Shah, Aziz Mirza, Ketan Mehta, Abbas-Mastan, Ramesh Sippy, Mahesh Bhatt, Amol Palekar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit while starring in the debut of currently top-notch filmmakers like Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar and Farah Khan.

4. His passionate streak
From featuring on simultaneous TV shows to promote his ambitiously-scaled superhero flick, Ra.One to developing a six-pack in his 40s for an item song in his earlier home production, Om Shanti Om, SRK is one ardent fellow.

5. Aww, look at those adorable dimples!
Be it Leonardo DiCaprio or Sharmila Tagore, dimples are an alluring  finishing touch on any beautiful face. SRK's not an epitome of pretty but, boy, can he work those tiny dents on his cheek!
So much that, some young men not only want to emulate his style but also sport similar dimples, by asking cosmetic surgeons to do the needful.

6. Dang, he's stylish!
He's no clothes horse but the man sure knows how to dress up.
On big screen, we've dug his easygoing style in a white shirt and black trouser for Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, his hip leather jacket and denims look in Dilwake Dulhania Le Jayenge, his checkered casual shirts and khakis in Swades and his dapper dude avatar in Don.
Off screen, too, SRK's suave formals or fuss-free casuals cut a smart picture.

7. Three cheers for Mr Right
As much as we laud his incredible convictions as a bad guy making life hell for the dainty heroine, it's his positive side we've always rooted for.

He's so good at doing the right thing, this Khan. Whether it's telling his folks about his forged report cards and giving up the girl of his dreams in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, saying no to corruption in Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, refusing to compromise on ladylove for lavish career in Yes Boss, choosing the 'sahi raasta' in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, lighting bulbs in Swades, coaching an underdog team to win a championship in Chak De! India, feel free to add to this list.

8. 'Rahul, naam toh suna hoga'
There's a good reason why SRK's female fan following is greater than that of any other Khans.

No one can romance the heroine like a Raj, Sunil, Rahul or Aman.
From serenading her with the most bewitching lines to gazing into her eyes till the screen and she turn a shade of pink, SRK is designed to evoke a mass-scale kuch kuch hota hai.

9. His killer enthusiasm
Ask his co-workers and they'll tell you what a bundle of energy the man is.

Even if you don't have access to do so, you surely remember his cheer guy routine during the recently concluded IPL season? The owner of Kolkata Knight Riders was simply uncontrollable after his team won the cup.

The ecstatic star went all out to demonstrate the extent of his joy by jumping /dancing about, performing a spontaneous round of cartwheels and even offering an impulsive apology to his fans for his much public spat with Mumbai Cricket Association officials previously.

10. He's a man of his word
Okay, unless you're a writer or filmmaker who hasn't got his dues or his dates, you'll probably agree that SRK has lived up to his statement of never posing with another actress on a magazine cover unless it's part of a promotional campaign or consenting to intimate scenes with his co-stars on the big screen.

Now if only he'd kick that awful habit of smoking he's promised to so many times.

11. 'Haar ke jitnewale ko Baazigar kehte hain'
Though he's perceived as someone who's stuck doing the same old, same old, courtesy his soft corner for playing the proverbial romantic in film after film, SRK is quite a risk taker.
While his acting assignments don't underscore that so much, he's much more adventurous as a producer. Be it Asoka, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Paheli, Om Shanti Om or Ra.One, there's nothing commonplace or safe about either of these projects.

And most of them didn't do well either. But it's his Baazigar motto that holds particularly true for his run as the owner of the down-in-the-dumps to we-are-the-champions story of IPL cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders.

12. iKhan
Unlike actors who endorse laptops but don't even know how to use one, SRK's always been at ease around gadgets.
Said to own every latest piece of technology in his den, from e-book readers and gaming consoles to smart phones and ingenious gizmos that are better suited in a Don 2 sequel than Mannat, King Khan's dabbles in all things wired and wireless.

13.Impish charm:  He is a loveable rogue. The one who will deliberately delay his love interest so that she misses her train and they can spend more time together, but doesn’t take advantage of her. Other Khans tried it in other films, but failed to succeed.

14. He's a family guy
SRK lost his parents long before they could witness the phenomenon he would turn into.

That unmistakable longing and warmth with which he talks about them showcases a vulnerability his starry demeanor works hard to conceal.

Ditto for his protective stance and loving declarations of affection for his childhood sweetheart turned wife, Gauri, sister Lalarukh and his two greatest strengths and weakness alike -- children, Aryan and Suhana.

15. Love me, love my quirks
A dash of eccentricity never did a man any harm.

So SRK's brand of weirdo includes his non-foodie extremeness, can survive on four hours of sleep, loves to mix his perfumes, refuses to wear brown socks and will go to the extent of missing a flight if he can't find the right set to go with his shoes.

16. Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani
There's much to admire about how religion is treated in SRK's household.

Being married to a Hindu hasn't altered his faith nor expected any changes in his wife's. Pooja, namaz, allah, bhagwan, all enjoy a harmonious coexistence in the Mannat family with the virtues and decorum of both religions inculcated into their children Aryan and Suhana.

17. He can crack a joke. He can take a joke
SRK's cheeky sense of humour has always been one of his greatest draws whether he's lampooning his colleagues at awards functions or fooling around on chat shows.

Most importantly, he can make fun of himself.

SRK Hugging A Fan ..

18. Fan-tastic!
It's a proud feeling to have a Bollywood hero who is heralded as 'the world's biggest superstar' by the likes of Los Angeles Times.

SRK, not only enjoys huge loyal fanbase in India but other countries like UK, USA, Germany, Pakistan, Dubai, Morocco and Poland.

19. His sexy stubble
He's not the shirt dropping, muscle flexing Sexiest Man Alive types anyway.

But SRK's intense quality when teamed with a few days old stubble goes a long way in making him dishy and desirable at once.

Remember his Kabir Khan in Chak De! India or the sleek pony-tailed crook of Don 2?

Makes us wish SRK went bristly more often.

20. He's a believer
Because somewhere behind that Godzilla-sized ego and high-strung megamind is just a restless boy who build his own Neverland and never stopped believing.

No SRK-Salman encounter at Esha's wedding

No SRK-Salman encounter at Esha's wedding: Disaster averted? New Delhi: A close encounter between the two warring Khans, Shah Rukh and Salman, seems to have been fortuitously averted. Esha Deol's June 29 wedding to fiancĂ© Bharat Takhtani could have been the meeting ground for SRK and Salman who famously and violently fell out at Salman's ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008.

Salman, who skipped Esha's sangeet and mehendi ceremonies held on June 25 and June 27 respectively, is shooting for Dabangg 2 in Mumbai and is expected to attend the wedding and the reception next day
SRK, on the other hand, is currently in London where he's on a working holiday, shooting for Yash Raj Films' Ye Kahan Aa Gaye Hum and putting in some family time with Gauri and the children.
Both Khans have old connections with Esha Deol's mother, actress Hema Malini. She's a longtime friend of Salman's family. Salman's father, Salim Khan, wrote Sholay, on the sets of which the Hema-Dharmendra romance blossomed.

Salman made up for his absence at Esha's pre-wedding ceremonies by assigning his trusted bodyguard Shera to oversee security and other arrangements.
